Description
The Knuckles Mountain Range, also known as Dumbara Kanduvetiya, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. Its jagged peaks, which resemble a clenched fist when viewed from afar, rise to nearly 1,900 metres. The range is a haven for eco-travellers, with numerous trekking trails passing through dense rainforests, cloud forests, and picturesque villages. The area harbours an extraordinary diversity of endemic flora and fauna, including rare orchids, leopards, and over 30 species of birds found nowhere else on earth.
